This is the only book which cover pretty all kind of poker. I bought it to learn about No Limit Holdem and it was one of the first book that I've read. I think that an all around poker player would have to read this book to add more insight into their own game. However, being a work of more than 20 years ago, many ideas in this book are outdated by today methods. I've not read all of the materials in this book and only concentrated on the Holdem chapters and I can say that he gives sounded and truthful advices. Harrington and Sklansky are more detailed and through in their NLH teachings where as Brunson is more conceptual.

Keep in mind this book is 30+ years old, so you'll have to remember that it was written when nobody knew anything about aggressive poker. Nowadays everyone who's looking to play better has read this book and probably several others. That said, the ideas presented are still very relavent, and your game will improve when you implement the strategies.

There is a reason why this book is considered the "bible" of poker. The concepts in the book are powerful yet easy to understand. I love Brunson's style and am already use it to my advantage. Sick book!
