Dated but worth a read March 4, 2008

I have seen this book listed and wondered if the author is THE Johnny Moss, famed Texas Road Gambler and two time winner of the World Series of Poker. Well it isn't though the date and author's name might suggest so.
My wife picked up a copy of the book at a garage sale and I began reading it largely out of curiosity. I played a little poker in the late 1950's so had some interest in the advice that was in publication then. Surprise - the advice looks much like that in Super System. I would have fared better if I had read this book half a century ago. The concepts are all right on target though the content is a bit dated - emphasis on specifics relates to games not much played today.
If you are interested only in Hold'em you don't want to read this one. If your interest is broader and includes a look back at some games you may never have played, and may never play; and if you are curious about what advice was being given in the dark ages, I recommend this one.
